Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Erwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletus Kasady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cletus Kasady is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Erwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cletus Kasady! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kasady avoids a punch combination nicely.
Erwin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Erwin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Erwin throws an overhand right that lands on Kasady's shoulder, as Kasady tries to avoid the shot. Kasady uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Erwin. Erwin misses the jab. Erwin misses with a two punch combination.
Kasady feints the counter takedown. Kasady closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Erwin wants to get back to his feet.
Erwin is looking to get back to is feet but Kasady passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Erwin trying to remain calm as Kasady controls from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kasady tries to move into full mount but can't pass Erwin's legs. Kasady taking a breather here. Erwin looking for a sweep but Kasady has passed into full mount! Oh no! Kasady controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Erwin is trying to escape the mount.
Kasady tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kasady's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. My spies in Elite Strikers inform me that Kasady has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Kasady might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Erwin is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Erwin tries to hold on but Kasady pushes him away. Erwin is looking to get to half guard. Kasady controlling the position easily from mount. Kasady prevents Erwin from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kasady controlling the pace for now. Erwin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erwin tries to get out of the position. More stalling from Kasady. Erwin is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Erwin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kasady controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cletus Kasady dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Kasady goes for a double leg but Erwin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Erwin continues to drive forward. Kasady keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Erwin. Erwin loads up on a big right hand but Kasady slips the punch. Kasady misses with a takedown attempt - Erwin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kasady fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Tyler Erwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cletus Kasady. A momentary lapse in concentration from Erwin enables Kasady to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Erwin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kasady stopping the sweep attempt from Erwin. Erwin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Erwin tries to improve his position but Kasady has taken his back! Kasady has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Erwin tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kasady pushes Erwin away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Cletus Kasady! Cletus Kasady decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
