Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darragh Kelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Daath! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kelly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kelly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Daath.
Daath misses with a straight left. Daath keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Darragh Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kelly jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A left lands for Daath. Daath loads up on a big right hand but Kelly slips the punch. Daath with a nice cross. Kelly throws a quick inside leg kick. Kelly throws a front kick aimed at Daath's knee but Daath avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelly throws a head kick that misses. Daath gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Daath throws out a counter right but Kelly avoids it with no problem. Both fighters circling a little - Kelly finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Kelly ducks under a wild hook from Daath. Kelly pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Kelly counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kelly slips under a jab. Kelly fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Daath. Kelly definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Daath moves out of range of the leg kick from Kelly. Kelly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Daath. Daath misses with a hook
and Kelly counters with a right hand to the body. Kelly moves away from the strike by Daath. Kelly misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kelly is looking to clinch but Daath is avoiding it.
Kelly tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daath paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kelly scoring well with a low kick there.

He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Daath and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Kelly lands a nice hook to Daath's body. Daath takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nice defenses there by Kelly. Kelly throws a quick counter head kick but Daath was just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kelly tries to bum rush Daath with a series of wild strikes but Daath uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A chopping leg kick lands by Kelly. Kelly scores with a jab to the head.
A jab lands there for Kelly. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kelly, right into the meat.
Daath fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kelly manages to avoid it. Daath throws a shot from downtown. Kelly moves away and avoids it. Kelly staying out of range there. Kelly appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Daath throws the left hand but Kelly avoids the punch easily. Kelly lands a leg kick that knocks Daath off balance momentarily. Daath throws a jab but it's blocked by Kelly. Daath connects with a crisp jab. Daath misses with a right hand and Kelly counters with a thumping low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daath drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kelly fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daath, pushing him back against the cage. Kelly is trying to pull guard but Daath has him pressed against the cage. Kelly fails to pull guard.
Daath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Daath might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Kelly displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Daath throws out the jab. Kelly looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Kelly gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kelly is trying to pull guard but Daath has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darragh Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daath throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kelly. Kelly dodges an elbow strike from Daath.

Daath creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Kelly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kelly pushes Daath away with a front kick. Kelly looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kelly misses the shot to the body. Kelly clobbers Daath with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelly rushes Daath and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A short left from Kelly. Kelly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Daath jabbing away but nothing is landing. A little feinted left hand from Kelly on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Daath chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kelly can pounce on him.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kelly. Daath does a little dance to reset his feet. Daath throws out a counter right but Kelly avoids it with no problem. Daath looks to land a left hand but Kelly moved out of range nicely. Daath waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kelly. Kelly lunges at Daath with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Daath's hand. Kelly throws out a powerful jab. Kelly moves out of range as Daath strikes. Kelly connects with a good right hand that stumbles Daath. Daath circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Kelly clinches up with Daath and pushes him back against the cage. Kelly breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Daath throws a body punch but Kelly moves out of range. Kelly misses with a body shot.
A shot to the liver by Kelly. Beautiful body shot. Kelly throws a head kick that misses. Kelly moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Daath misses with a straight left. Kelly closes the distance and pushes Daath back into the cage. Kelly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Daath can do to turn this around? Kelly tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kelly has Daath pressed against the cage, preventing Daath from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Max Daath has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kelly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Daath walks away with a smile on his face. Kelly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darragh Kelly. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kelly scores with a body shot.

Kelly lands a right hand that snaps the head of Daath backwards. Kelly avoids a wild elbow strike from Daath. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Daath just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kelly's brow. Kelly tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Daath just stands there and leans against the cage. Kelly tries a body shot but Daath blocks it.

Daath's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Kelly tries to pull guard but Daath holds him up against the cage and eventually Kelly drops back down to his feet.
