Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Cantor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Rodrigo Machado!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Machado is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Machado.
Cantor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Machado walks away with a smile on his face. Cantor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cantor swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Machado instigates a clinch.
Cantor blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machado throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Cantor wants the takedown. Machado is fighting it off but Cantor persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Machado's guard against the ropes.

Cantor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Machado is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cantor is looking for a sweep. Machado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Cantor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cantor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Machado is working away from the top position though.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cantor manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Cantor has his foot on Machado's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machado works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Machado stuffs the takedown attempt from Cantor. Cantor gets slowly back to his feet.
Cantor sets himself, and Machado steps forward looking for the clinch! Cantor avoids it this time.

Machado gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Machado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cantor manages to get himself to full guard.

Cantor controls Machado momentarily but Machado frees himself.

Machado connects with a couple of short punches.
Cantor is pulling down on Machado's head to control his posture.
Machado lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Machado stands up over Cantor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Cantor has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Machado should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cantor has tightened it up now! Machado should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Roger Cantor!
