Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doc Benway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cu Cuchulain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Doc Benway has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Doc Benway seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cu Cuchulain!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuchulain fails with an attempt to clinch.
Benway is looking to counter with head kicks.
Benway is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cuchulain's half guard.
Cuchulain keeping control of the position.
Cuchulain looks like he's trying to stand up.
Still in half guard, Benway seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cuchulain is trying to stand back up but Benway is controlling him
Benway seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cuchulain wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Benway throws a series of punches but Cuchulain avoids them all with ease.
Benway throws a nice looking combination but Cuchulain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Benway pulls Cuchulain into guard.
Benway has control of Cuchulain's left arm, preventing Cuchulain from doing any damage.
Benway looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

It looks like Doc Benway has been cut.
Cuchulain fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Benway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cuchulain is wriggling around but Benway manages to pass to half guard.
Benway is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Benway stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cuchulain to get to his feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cuchulain.
Cuchulain lands a jab to the head.
Benway gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cuchulain wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Benway has him pressed against the cage.
Benway escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Benway throws the kick towards the body but Cuchulain avoids it.
Benway tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cuchulain was well out of range. Poor timing from Benway.

Benway moves into the clinch.
Benway pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Benway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Benway stands and steps away. Cuchulain gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cuchulain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Benway has closed the distance and engaged Cuchulain in a clinch.
Benway turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cuchulain wants to get back to his feet but Benway drags him back down.
Benway content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Benway thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cuchulain takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benway is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cuchulain will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Cuchulain is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Benway asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Cuchulain takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Cuchulain is trying to buck Benway off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doc Benway dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Doc Benway's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cuchulain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Benway doesn't seem bothered though.
Benway gets the takedown into side control.
Cuchulain is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Benway off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Benway's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Benway just trying to survive but Cuchulain is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Cuchulain is landing with strikes from the back.

Cuchulain lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Cuchulain wants to control but Benway is keeping busy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Benway is trapped and Cuchulain is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Cuchulain is not going to allow Benway to sit and survive in this position.

Benway turns into Cuchulain and is now in his guard.
Benway decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cuchulain scores with a head kick. Benway tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Benway moves into the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Benway.
Cuchulain wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cuchulain tries to circle away but Benway has him pinned against the cage.

Cuchulain wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Benway gets control of Cuchulain's arms and successfully pulls guard. Benway will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Benway is on top in guard.
Cuchulain is looking to stand up but Benway isn't so interested in that idea.
Benway is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Cuchulain is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Benway is controlling him.
Benway is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Cuchulain keeping full guard, as Benway tries to pass.

Cuchulain wants to stand up but Benway is controlling him.
Benway stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Benway decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cuchulain pushes Benway off looking to stand but Benway dives back in and keeps control.
Benway works his foot free and advances to mount.

Benway with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Doc Benway overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cuchulain sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Well, if Benway is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close second round but I would say that Doc Benway will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Cuchulain misses with a few strikes there.
A nice combination there by Benway.
Some wild striking there from Cuchulain.
Cuchulain thows a leg kick but Benway checks it
and Benway counters with a two punch combo.
Cuchulain scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Cuchulain scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Benway throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cuchulain throws a counter combo.
Cuchulain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Benway manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Benway fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cuchulain to the ground. Benway is now in Cuchulain's guard.
Cuchulain wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Benway manages to pass to side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Benway stands up and beckons Cuchulain to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Benway drives through and clinches with Cuchulain against the cage.
Cuchulain is trying to pull guard but Benway turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Benway jumps into guard, dragging Cuchulain to the mat.
Benway is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Cuchulain presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Benway pulls guard.
Cuchulain has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Benway is proving hard to escape from.
Benway might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cuchulain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Benway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Benway is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cuchulain can do to turn this around?

Cuchulain postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Benway is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cuchulain, into his guard.
Benway decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cuchulain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Benway feints and as Cuchulain raises his hands in defense, Benway changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cuchulain is trying to stand up here but Benway is controlling him well.
Benway passes to full mount!
Benway looking to secure an arm triangle but Cuchulain defends it well.
Benway has hold of Cuchulain's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cuchulain manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Cuchulain is squirming around, avoiding Benway's attempts to control the action.
Cuchulain is working to get back to half guard.
Cuchulain is trying to stand.
Cuchulain is trying desperately to improve position.
Benway controlling the pace for now.

Doc Benway showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Benway, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
