And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Hess!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess misses with a low kick.
Parker fires out a quick counter leg kick but Hess just manages to avoid it.
Hess throws a leg kick that is checked
and Parker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Parker has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Guerrilla MMA in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd cheers as Parker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hess doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Jon Hess has been cut.

A quick step to the side and Parker tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Parker thows a body kick. Hess tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Hess throws a body punch but Parker moves out of range.
Hess lands a jab to Parker's midsection.
Hess thumps Parker with a low kick.
Hess's corner calls for a 1-2. Hess obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Parker lands with an uppercut that bounces Hess off the cage and back into range.
Hess misses with a head kick.
Hess avoids the head kick by Parker.
Parker misses with a leg kick.
Jon Hess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hess throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Parker sees it coming and avoids it easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Parker misses the target.
Parker tries to close the distance and clinch but Hess swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hess has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hess takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hess motions for Parker to come forward. Hess throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Parker tried to counter with a leg kick but Hess avoided it.

Hess is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Parker rather than just go for the knockout.

That has opened up Jon Hess's cut even more.
Parker ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Decent striking displayed by Parker there.
Hess walks straight into a right hand from Parker - that's dropped him! Parker jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hess from any more punishment! Hess complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Scott Parker!
