Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ozamataz Buckshank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yef Yew! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buckshank pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Yew takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Buckshank fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Yew checks it well. A little jabbing left from Yew on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Buckshank looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A telegraphed right hand from Yew misses the target. Buckshank keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Yew. Yew chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Buckshank can pounce on him.
Buckshank misses with a body kick. Buckshank connects with an inside leg kick. Buckshank is looking to slow Yew down with leg kicks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buckshank missing with a left hand there. Yew was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Yew throws out a counter right but Buckshank avoids it with no problem. Buckshank throws a sloppy body shot
and Yew counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Ozamataz Buckshank has been cut. Buckshank scores with a decent looking hook. Yew slips a straight right by Buckshank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckshank tries to land a leg kick but Yew saw it coming and moves away.
Yew looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Buckshank thumps Yew with a low kick. Yew checks a leg kick. Buckshank attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Buckshank finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Buckshank misses with a leg kick and Yew counters with a crisp right hand that drops Buckshank! Yew lets Buckshank back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Buckshank is rocked! Yew blocks a jab. Yew swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Oh Buckshank is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Yew lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Buckshank up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Yew from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Buckshank's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yef Yew! After winning the bout, Yef Yew thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
