PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Buckley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Boon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boon has chosen Rumble as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gavin Buckley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Boon!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckley defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boon.
Boon fails with a takedown attempt.
Boon goes for a double leg but Buckley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Buckley continues to drive forward.
It looked like Buckley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Boon.
Gavin Buckley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Boon.

Boon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Buckley on his heels. He'll look to pass Buckley's guard now, I'm sure.

Boon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Buckley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Buckley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Buckley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Buckley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Boon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Buckley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Buckley has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Boon to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Buckley is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Boon pulls down on the head and he's put Buckley to sleep! This one is all over!
