Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vrej Nazaryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robledo Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nazaryan comes to the cage accompanied by DVBBS & Borgeous - Tsunami. Puch has chosen Breathe as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vrej Nazaryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Robledo Puch!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nazaryan throws a leg kick that is checked

and Puch counters with a takedown into side control.

Puch tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Puch in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Puch goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nazaryan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Puch but great work by Nazaryan.
Puch is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nazaryan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Puch to his feet.
Nazaryan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Puch.
Nazaryan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gym of the Gods in the buildup to the fight.
Puch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Puch fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nazaryan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Puch counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Puch.
Puch won't allow Nazaryan to get back to his feet.
Puch throws a big elbow that misses.
Puch throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Puch accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Puch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Puch is in close to Nazaryan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Nazaryan wants to stand up but Puch is controlling him.
Puch is looking to work some ground and pound but Nazaryan has wrist control.
Puch throws a big right hand that misses.

Puch throws an elbow that misses. Nazaryan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Puch's guard. Nice move by Nazaryan!

Puch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Puch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nazaryan defends it easily.
Nazaryan won't allow Puch to sweep him here.
Puch is still trying to improve position.

Puch is looking for a triangle here but Nazaryan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Nazaryan decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nazaryan, as that shot connected.
Nazaryan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nazaryan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As Puch looks to move away, Nazaryan throws a big counter combo but Puch just gets out of the way.
Puch takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Puch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nazaryan.
No joy there for Puch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nazaryan attempts a counter takedown but Puch avoids it well and moves away.
Nazaryan throws a leg kick that misses.
Nazaryan tried to score with a low kick but Puch checks it.
Puch with the counter takedown but Nazaryan avoids it easily.
Puch tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nazaryan was well out of range. Poor timing from Puch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vrej Nazaryan will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Puch scores with the left hand. Nazaryan knows he should have avoided that one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nazaryan is looking to escape.

Puch is working for a kimura but Nazaryan is defending it quite comfortably.
Puch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nazaryan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Puch.

Puch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nazaryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nazaryan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Puch is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Puch sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Puch is trying to work for a sweep but Nazaryan has mounted him!
Puch is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Puch tries to hold on but Nazaryan pushes him away.

Nazaryan get's back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vrej Nazaryan will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Nazaryan lands a really nice looking cross but Puch seems unphased.

Puch throws a lazy right hand but Nazaryan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Puch counters with a shoot takedown. Nazaryan fights it but they end up in guard.
Puch throws a strike but Nazaryan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Nazaryan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Vrej Nazaryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Nazaryan.
Puch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nazaryan.

and Puch counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Puch counters with a single leg into guard. Nazaryan didn't expect that.
Puch throws a strike but Nazaryan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Robledo Puch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Nazaryan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Vrej Nazaryan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
