Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Avon Barksdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Avon Barksdale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eli Williams! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams misses with an uppercut. Williams looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Barksdale closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Williams's guard. Barksdale slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Williams working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Barksdale. Barksdale sitting in guard, not really doing much. Barksdale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barksdale looking to pass the guard. Barksdale slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Barksdale rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Barksdale jumps guard but Williams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Barksdale is trying to trip Williams. He has hold of a leg but Williams is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Barksdale persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Williams wants to stand but Barksdale is controlling the position. Barksdale controlling from the top position. Williams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barksdale is controlling him. Barksdale cracks Williams with a solid left hand. Barksdale stays in close to Williams's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barksdale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Barksdale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now. Williams wants to get back to his feet but Barksdale is in a dominant position and won't allow it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Barksdale looking to pass the guard. Williams wants to stand and escape but Barksdale is having none of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Williams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barksdale. Barksdale bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barksdale decides to stand back up. Barksdale steps back and let's Williams get back to his feet. Williams throws a hook to the side of Barksdale's head but Barksdale sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barksdale throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Williams tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barksdale is in Williams's guard. Williams is working an open guard so Barksdale takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Barksdale closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Williams tries to circle away but Barksdale has him pinned against the cage. Barksdale stalling in the clinch.

and Barksdale counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Barksdale's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Barksdale jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barksdale closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Williams is trying to stand.
Barksdale landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barksdale is working for a submission of some sort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barksdale is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Williams is trying to stand up here but Barksdale is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barksdale looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Williams! Barksdale prevents Williams from escaping the position. Barksdale scoring with punches and elbows. Barksdale controls the position. Barksdale tries to move to mount but Williams blocks the move with his legs. Barksdale takes a little break here. Williams wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams is breathing heavily. Barksdale tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barksdale prevents Williams from escaping the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Barksdale misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Barksdale tries to move into full mount but can't pass Williams's legs. Barksdale lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Williams down.
Barksdale controls the position from side control. Barksdale prevents Williams from escaping the position. Williams takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The referee asks Barksdale politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barksdale prefers to stall for the moment though. Williams is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Barksdale has just dragged him back down to the mat. Barksdale staying calm.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barksdale is pressing down on Williams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Williams is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Williams pushes Barksdale off looking to stand but Barksdale dives back in and keeps control.
Barksdale perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Barksdale is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? Barksdale is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Still in half guard, Barksdale seems content to control. This is a sustained period of stalling by Barksdale. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Williams is trying to stand back up but Barksdale is controlling him

Williams has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Barksdale moves into the clinch. Barksdale lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Barksdale wants to pass to mount but Williams is defending the position. Williams has one foot on Barksdale's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barksdale tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes. Williams looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice defenses there by Barksdale. Barksdale displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab. Barksdale drops down looking for a counter takedown but Williams sprawls and moves away. Barksdale looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range. A left and a right from Williams both land. Nice combination. Barksdale misses with a series of wild punches.
