Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wolf fails with the takedown. An attempted straight right counter from Hogan misses the target. Hogan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Wolf under the eye. Hogan throws a poor cross that misses
so Wolf counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hogan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Hogan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Wolf has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hogan clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hogan covering up well and avoiding damage. Hogan trying to get back to his feet but Wolf is in full control for now. Wolf throwing wild punches that miss their target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wolf has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Hogan covering up well under a barage of strikes. Wolf is throwing strikes but Hogan counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Hogan regains half guard. Hogan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Wolf slips a nice elbow through Hogan's hands, connecting with Hogan's forehead. Wolf thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wolf has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wolf is trying to work for a kimura but Hogan is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wolf throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wolf working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Hogan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wolf. Wolf throws an elbow that misses. Hogan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wolf's guard. Nice move by Hogan!
Wolf is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hogan is aware though and is defending well. Wolf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wolf controlling Hogan's posture. Wolf tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hogan postures up.

We've heard reports from his gym mates at Cozad MMA LA Elite that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Hogan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Wolf tries to free his leg and advance position but Hogan is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Hugo Wolf will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Wolf tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hogan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wolf somewhat. Wolf with a lazy takedown attempt and Hogan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wolf gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hogan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ben Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Wolf. Hogan connects with a leg kick. Wolf looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Wolf is looking to clinch but Hogan is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hogan scores with a hook. Hogan bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Hogan scores with a jab. Wolf tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan leaves Wolf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hogan tried to counter with a leg kick but Wolf avoided it. Hogan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Wolf with a poor takedown and Hogan counters with a straight right hand. Wolf misses with a takedown attempt and Hogan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hogan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Hogan scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Wolf has his takedown stuffed letting Hogan counter with a right hand. Wolf shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hogan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wolf. That did some damage! Hogan lands a front kick. Hogan gets caught napping as Wolf dives in and scores a takedown. Hogan manages to retain guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wolf throws a big right hand that misses. Hogan wants to stand up but Wolf is controlling him. Wolf throws an elbow that misses. Hogan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wolf's guard. Nice move by Hogan! Wolf is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wolf pulls Hogan in close to prevent any damage. Wolf is trying to control the position but Hogan postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wolf holds on and takes a little breather. Wolf is trying to keep Hogan in close.
Wolf wants to sweep here but Hogan controlling him for the moment. Wolf is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hugo Wolf has got the better of the ground game so far. Wolf looks to land a strike but Hogan avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Is there anything that Wolf can do to turn this around? Wolf is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hogan wants to stand and escape but Wolf is having none of it. Wolf postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wolf throws a strike but Hogan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hogan stopping the sweep attempt from Wolf. Wolf has his hands on Hogan's head, controlling the position. Ben Hogan dominated that second round. That's time! Hogan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hogan. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hogan. Wolf shrugs it off though. Hogan lands a jab to the nose. Hogan misses with a low kick.
And Wolf tries to counter it with a takedown but Hogan pushes his down on his head and steps out. Hogan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hogan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ben Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hogan scores with a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wolf takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Wolf tries to move into range but Hogan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hogan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hogan dips to his left and cracks Wolf with an uppercut! Wolf will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wolf misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wolf tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hogan lands a jab. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wolf. Hogan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Ben Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Wolf.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hogan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Wolf's head. Wolf tries for a takedown but Hogan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hogan closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ben Hogan is winning the standup battle so far. A nice inside leg kick there by Hogan. That's going to slow Wolf down. Hogan throws a shot to the body.
Ben Hogan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice takedown defense from Hogan. No joy for Wolf on that attempt. Wolf takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jab, jab by Hogan - just one landing. Wolf misses with a takedown attempt and Hogan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wolf thinking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolf needs to keep his hands up - Hogan had a free shot at his head there. Wolf shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hogan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hogan cracks the inside of Wolf's front leg. Hogan scoring well with a low kick there.
Wolf tries to clinch but fails miserably and Hogan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hogan lands a front kick. Wolf closes the distance and clinches up with Hogan, looking for a takedown. Wolf pushes Hogan against the cage but Hogan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wolf gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hogan. Hogan sizes up Wolf with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hogan connects with a single shot there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Hogan. This has been an exciting period of action! Hogan looks to land a right hand but Wolf moved out of range. Hogan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wolfs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Wolf's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Hogan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wolf takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Hogan! Ben Hogan retains his lightweight title! Our winner, Ben Hogan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
