Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gaius Marius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kail Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beast has chosen Till I Collaspe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kail Beast struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Kail Beast looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marius shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Marius trying to control the position from guard on top but Beast is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Beast can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marius controls the pace.
Marius postures up in Beast's guard and throws a big left but Beast blocks it.

Beast has his foot on Marius 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marius works his way back into a safe position though.

Marius knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beast on the ground.

Beast working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marius doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marius manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Marius is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Beast is surviving well by controlling Marius 's body position as best he can.
BOOM! Marius connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Marius cracks Beast with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Marius postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Beast looks a forlorn figure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
