Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between lucas Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pulse of the Magoots. lucas Araujo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, lucas Araujo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tiago Lopes!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo throws a head kick that misses.
Araujo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lopes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Araujo as he avoids it easily.
Araujo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lopes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Araujo!
Araujo is trying desperately to improve position.
Lopes goes for an armbar but Araujo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Araujo.
Lopes has his foot on Araujo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Araujo works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopes had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Araujo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lopes Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Araujo's back instead.
Araujo is really stuck here.
Araujo is trying to get back to his feet but Lopes has full control of the position and if anything, Araujo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Lopes is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Araujo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Araujo for a finish.

Araujo is trying to stand back up.
Araujo breaks Lopes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Araujo just trying to survive but Lopes is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Lopes is trying to stick to Araujo's back but Araujo is turning into Lopes. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lopes's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Araujo.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Araujo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Araujo tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Lopes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Araujo's guard.
Lopes won't allow Araujo to sweep him here.
Lopes has gone for a leg lock! Araujo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lopes's guard.
Araujo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Araujo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lopes working for a triangle but Araujo defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lopes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Araujo stacks Lopes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Araujo!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lopes is working to avoid the ground and pound but Araujo connects with a decent elbow.
Araujo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lopes scores a takedown into full mount!
Lopes with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Araujo manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Lopes in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Araujo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lopes!
