The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfadden lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Dupond shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mcfadden manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Dupond decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Dupond blocks a head kick by Mcfadden.
Dupond lands a nice looking body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcfadden gets caught flat footed, as Dupond shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mcfadden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dupond distracts Mcfadden with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcfadden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dupond accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dupond is stalling in the full guard.

Dupond lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dupond throws a combination. Mcfadden tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Ezra Mcfadden has been cut.
Mcfadden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Oh Mcfadden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dupond moves into the clinch.

Mcfadden seems to have got his legs back now.
Dupond throws a head kick but Mcfadden moves out of range.
As Dupond tries to get set, Mcfadden tries to push him back and clinch up but Dupond manages to avoid the attempt.

Dupond decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Mcfadden is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dupond dives into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Let's hope that Dupond has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dupond gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mcfadden wants to control but Dupond postures up.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Dupond.

Mcfadden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dupond has him pressed against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dupond shoots in and bounces Mcfadden off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mcfadden has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dupond off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Well Dupond has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
