Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sandstorm. Jose Cronos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
35 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
30 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cronos drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chandler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Chandler is trying to control the action in half guard but Cronos is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Chandler working over Cronos with some ground and pound. Cronos looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Chandler stops Cronos from getting back to his feet.
Cronos is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Chandler scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cronos gets full guard.
Chandler trying to control but Cronos is working from the bottom.
Chandler chips away with some ground and pound.
Chandler content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Cronos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cronos uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Cronos shoots in but no luck this time.
That kick from Chandler tenderised Cronos's leg. Cronos is trying to keep his angry face on.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chandler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cronos paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chandler defending well as Cronos loads up on a big left hand.
Cronos throws a body shot but no joy.
Chandler misses the shot to the body.
Despite the aggression on Cronos's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Chandler dominated that round.

Cronos takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cronos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chandler.
Cronos connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Chandler wants to clinch.
Marcus Chandler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chandler pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cronos is out of range and Chandler settles back down.
Cronos scores with a nice right hand.
Chandler turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cronos has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Chandler.

Cronos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cronos showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chandler is refusing to be controlled, as Cronos sits in half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cronos working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Cronos is working for a kimura but Chandler is defending it quite comfortably.

Cronos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chandler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cronos.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cronos trying to control but Chandler is working from the bottom.
Chandler is adopting a defensive guard.
Chandler is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chandler tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cronos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chandler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cronos tries to free his leg and advance position but Chandler is retaining full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cronos takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Cronos moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Chandler's corner calls for a 1-2. Chandler obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Cronos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Chandler wants to control but Cronos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cronos ducks under a wild hook from Chandler.
Chandler throws a leg kick but Cronos sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Cronos lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chandler finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Chandler.
Cronos shoots in for a takedown but Chandler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cronos swats away the attempt to clinch by Chandler.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chandler.
Chandler slips a jab from Cronos.

Chandler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cronos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A slapping leg kick lands for Chandler.
A nice inside leg kick there by Chandler. That's going to slow Cronos down.
Chandler throws a shot from downtown. Cronos moves away and avoids it.
Chandler moves in looking to clinch but Cronos pushes him off.

Cronos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chandler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cronos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chandler keeps working.

Cronos wants to control from the top but Chandler keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cronos engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A low kick from Chandler is predictable there
and Cronos counters with a series of strikes. Chandler will be more careful next time no doubt.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chandler, as that shot connected.
Cronos scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Cronos controlling the position from side mount.
Chandler tries to improve position but can't.
Chandler tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Cronos presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Chandler is looking to improve his position but Cronos isn't that keen on the idea.

Cronos has control of Chandler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chandler regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Chandler wants to hold on but Cronos pushes him away.
Cronos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chandler is looking to escape.
Chandler is trying to escape the mount.
And that's the end of the fight!
Jose Cronos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cronos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
