Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chanar Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Calina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes to the cage accompanied by Royal Blood - Careless. Chanar Khan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chanar Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Calina! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calina misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Khan throws a counter high kick but Calina was just alert enough to avoid it. Khan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Calina defends well and Khan ends up having to push Calina into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Calina shoots in for a double leg but Khan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Calina circles away from the clinch attempt.
Khan forces Calina back against the cage and clinches. Calina is looking to take this one to the mat. Chanar Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Calina. Khan stalls. Khan taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Calina has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Khan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Khan wants to get up but he can't break Calina's closed guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Calina is trying to control the position but Khan postures up. Khan wants to stand and escape but instead Calina has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Calina wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving. Calina is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Calina trying to control the position from guard on top but Khan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Calina controls from within his opponent's guard. Calina drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Calina jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Calina wants to control from the top but Khan keeps moving. Calina is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Calina is working Khan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Khan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Khan tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khan looking to control but Calina passes into half guard.
Calina seems to be working for a kimura but Khan defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calina is looking to take a break and control but Khan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Calina working Khan over with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calina throws a strike but Khan avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Khan keeping moving, preventing Calina from controlling successfully. Khan wants to get back to his feet but Calina is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Calina passes Khan's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Calina is trying to control the action in half guard but Khan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Calina lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Khan is defending against the submission attempts here by Calina.
Calina thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Calina dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
