The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ceronne tries for a takedown but Whittaker circles away easily
enabling Whittaker to counter with a crisp jab.

Ceronne bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Whittaker tries to improve position but can't.

Ceronne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Whittaker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ceronne tries to score with some ground and pound. Whittaker controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Whittaker is trying to improve his position.
Ceronne is looking to take a break and control but Whittaker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ceronne scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Whittaker to see if he's OK.
