Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Ramsley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erland Aleski!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleski tries for a takedown but Ramsley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Aleski stuffs the takedown attempt from Ramsley. Ramsley gets slowly back to his feet.
Aleski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ramsley counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aleski's knee momentarily.
Ramsley is looking to clinch but Aleski is avoiding it.
Ramsley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aleski swivels and escapes.

John Ramsley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erland Aleski.

and Ramsley counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ramsley.

Ramsley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Aleski wants to control but Ramsley is having none of it.
Ramsley lands with some strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aleski tries to lock up and control but Ramsley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ramsley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aleski is looking to escape.
Aleski wants to hold on but Ramsley pushes him away.

Ramsley goes for an armbar but Aleski turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Aleski.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Ramsley dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Aleski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aleski lands in his opponent's guard.

Aleski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ramsley looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ramsley looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ramsley!
Ramsley wants to control but Aleski is keeping him busy.
Aleski prevents Ramsley from moving into mount.
Aleski dodges the ground and pound from Ramsley.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aleski is looking for a sweep.

Ramsley lands a decent elbow from side control.
Aleski gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ramsley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Aleski is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ramsley pulls his head out easily.

Ramsley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Aleski is staying active underneath Ramsley, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Aleski wants to control but Ramsley is keeping busy.

and Aleski counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ramsley manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ramsley tries to kick Aleski off but Aleski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Aleski takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Aleski wants to take a breather but Ramsley is having none of it.

Ramsley manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Erland Aleski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramsley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aleski paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Aleski shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ramsley counters by moving into the clinch.
Aleski is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ramsley pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ramsley connects with a nasty looking knee right to Aleski's face.
Ramsley content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Aleski tries to pull guard but Ramsley won't allow it.

Erland Aleski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aleski seems to be working for a kimura but Ramsley defends the submission attempt.
Ramsley looks like he's trying to stand up.
Aleski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramsley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ramsley is controlling Aleski's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Aleski has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ramsley is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Aleski yanks on the arm and Ramsley is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Aleski.
