PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Mitsuhashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Lennox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lennox has chosen Country boy can survive as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Takashi Mitsuhashi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cameron Lennox!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lennox gets a takedown into half guard.
Lennox looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mitsuhashi is trying to get back to full guard.

Lennox seems to be working for a kimura but Mitsuhashi defends the submission attempt.
Lennox prevents Mitsuhashi from standing back up.
Mitsuhashi is trying to maintain the position but Lennox is very close to passing his half guard.

Mitsuhashi is defending against the submission attempts here by Lennox.

Mitsuhashi wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mitsuhashi has his takedown stuffed

and Lennox counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mitsuhashi won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitsuhashi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mitsuhashi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lennox on the ground.
Mitsuhashi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mitsuhashi is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Lennox has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lennox shoots in and bounces Mitsuhashi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mitsuhashi is adopting a defensive guard.

Lennox drops back looking for a leg! Mitsuhashi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitsuhashi manages to kick Lennox off! Lennox jumps back into Mitsuhashi's guard.
Mitsuhashi wants to stand up but Lennox is controlling him.

Lennox thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mitsuhashi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mitsuhashi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Lennox walks into a jab.

Lennox feints and as Mitsuhashi raises his hands in defense, Lennox changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lennox is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lennox slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mitsuhashi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Lennox thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lennox wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mitsuhashi, who protects the arm well.

and Lennox counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Lennox drops back looking for a leg! Mitsuhashi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitsuhashi manages to kick Lennox off! Lennox jumps back into Mitsuhashi's guard.

Mitsuhashi has his foot on Lennox's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lennox works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lennox has hold of Mitsuhashi's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Mitsuhashi seems comfortable defending it but Lennox has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Mitsuhashi is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Mitsuhashi is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lennox couldn't care less - he's delighted!
