0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Omar Durez! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Decker bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Decker looking to score a takedown here. Durez is defending well but Decker drives through and ends up in Durez's guard. Durez wants to get back to his feet but Decker passes into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Decker trying to control the pace. Durez is trying to get back to full guard. Durez wants to control the action here but instead Decker manages to pass to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Decker controlling his opponent. Durez wants to hold on but Decker pushes him away. Durez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Decker haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. You get the feeling that Durez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Decker looking to finish Durez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Durez! Decker lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Decker controlling the position easily from mount. Durez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Decker dominating with strikes here. Durez tries to lock up and control but Decker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Durez looks winded! Durez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Decker controlling from the full mount. Decker lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Durez hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Decker breaks from Durez's wrist control and lands an elbow. Decker controlling the position easily from mount. Decker has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Durez is forced to tap!
