Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rhys Crowder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rhys Crowder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard Butler!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowder cracks Butler with a good jab.

Butler swings for the body but Crowder moves out of range.
Crowder appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Crowder cracks Butler with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Crowder misses with a shot to the body
and Butler counters with a three punch combo that has Crowder backing up. Crowder nods at Butler to acknowledge the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Butler loads up on a big right hand but Crowder slips the punch.

Crowder fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Butler on the side of the head.

Butler shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Butler gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Butler walks into a stiff left hand from Crowder.

Butler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Crowder.

Crowder uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Butler has time to react.

Butler has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Butler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Crowder sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Crowder scores with a hook to the body. Butler takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Crowder scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Crowder takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Butler is rocked!
Crowder clobbers Butler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Butler is still on wobbly legs! Can Crowder finish him?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crowder connects with a single shot there.

Crowder moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Butler goes down! Can Crowder finish him!?
Crowder wants to control from the top but Butler keeps moving.

Crowder pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Butler is keeping the position for now.
Butler seems to have recovered his senses.

Butler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Butler in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Crowder throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Crowder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Butler can do to turn this around?

It seemed like Butler was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Butler ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Crowder connects with a good right hand that stumbles Butler. Butler circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Butler takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Crowder drops his shoulder and cracks Butler with a huge uppercut! Butler goes down! Can Crowder finish him?
Butler has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Montreal Athletic Center 5* spar. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Crowder is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Crowder gets to his feet. Butler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Crowder lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Crowder lands a nice hook to Butler's body. Butler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Butler closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Crowder dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Crowder scores with a punch to the head.
Crowder throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Butler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Crowder cracks Butler with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Butler with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Crowder to score with a decent uppercut.
Butler gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Crowder gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rhys Crowder!
