Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Burma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Lonestar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burma jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Burma takes a swing at Lonestar's ribcage but misses.
Burma throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lonestar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Burma.
Lonestar changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Burma throws a body punch but Lonestar moves out of range.
Lonestar feints the counter takedown.
We've been told by Burma's head coaches at Russian Fighting Community Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Burma has taken the fight to the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burma misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lonestar ducks right into an uppercut from Burma.

Lonestar ducks right into an uppercut from Burma.
A low kick from Burma is predictable there

and Lonestar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lonestar wants to pass the guard but Burma is keeping the position.

Lonestar is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Burma is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Burma has escaped and now he's on top!


Lonestar looking for a guillotine here but Burma defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lonestar pushes a forearm under Burma's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Burma is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
