Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Iain Durrant! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Durrant is looking to improve his position.
Taylor wants to stand up but Durrant has a hold of him and won't allow it. Taylor wants to take a breather but Durrant is having none of it. Taylor controlling the pace. Durrant gets back to full guard.
Taylor tries to stand but Durrant is controlling from the bottom. Taylor won't allow Durrant to sweep him here. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Durrant keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully. Taylor wanted to stand there but Durrant had control of the position. Taylor is stalling in the full guard. Taylor is looking to stand up but Durrant won't let him. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Durrant on the wrong end of a nice hook. Danga de danga de dang - Taylor scores with a four punch combination! Taylor throws a series of strikes that have Durrant backpedaling.
Durrant shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Durrant takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Tim Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taylor moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Durrant misses with a takedown and Taylor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Taylor looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Durrant! Durrant is in a horrible position here. Taylor smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Durrant is looking to improve his position but Taylor isn't that keen on the idea.

Durrant might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Taylor kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Taylor content just to control the position here. Durrant tries to hold on but Taylor postures up. Durrant is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Durrant tries to hold on but Taylor postures up. Taylor trying to control but Durrant is having none of it. Durrant tries to lock up and control but Taylor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Taylor lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Durrant hang on? Taylor content just to control the position here. Taylor trying to control but he's not successful this time. Taylor prevents Durrant from getting the reversal. Taylor sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Durrant tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Taylor cracks Durrant with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Durrant bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Durrant trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet. Taylor is working hard here to advance position. Durrant being controlled here momentarily. Taylor wants to sweep here but Durrant controlling him for the moment.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Durrant trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Taylor manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Durrant is squirming around, avoiding Taylor's attempts to control the action. Durrant tries to hold on but Taylor pushes him away. Taylor prevents Durrant from getting the reversal. Taylor thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Durrant bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Durrant stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Durrant trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Durrant tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. Durrant has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Taylor is proving hard to escape from. Durrant postures up.
Taylor is really struggling to control Durrant but he's trying to hold on to the position. Durrant is fighting to break Taylor's control of his arms but Taylor is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Durrant tries for a takedown but Taylor circles away easily and Taylor counters by clinching up. Durrant keeps control of Taylor as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Durrant is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Taylor pulls him back up using the underhooks. Durrant wants a takedown but no success here.

Taylor has Durrant pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Durrant manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Taylor wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Durrant scores with an uppercut up the middle. Durrant turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Taylor is trying to control Durrant's posture but Durrant avoids it.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Durrant avoids the strikes from the bottom by Taylor. Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't. Taylor wants to get back to his feet but Durrant is dominant here and he's now got Taylor's back! Taylor tries to get back to half guard but can't. Taylor's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Durrant is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Taylor can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Taylor is trying desperately to improve position. Durrant can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Taylor is looking to escape. Taylor keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Durrant looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Taylor is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Durrant throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Taylor has his hands clasped together but Durrant breaks the hold and Taylor is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Durrant!
