PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanuki Shinra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinra has chosen I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tanuki Shinra!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Brown shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shinra's guard.

Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Brown is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Brown passes into half guard.
Brown passes to side control.
Shinra is trying to buck Brown off.
Brown controlling the position.

Brown tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shinra tries to escape but Brown is in control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brown is working to tighten his grip on Shinra's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Shinra has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Brown is really squeezing tight and eventually Shinra passes out! Brown breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Tyson Brown!
As Tyson Brown got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: A Morphological Examination of Sympatric Cisco Forms in Four Lakes with Specific Reference to the Occurrence of Shortjaw Cisco ( Coregonus Zenithicus) in Manitoba...'.
The defeated Tanuki Shinra had this to say: 'Sorry '.
