Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bart Hayden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bart Hayden! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer scores with a jab to the body. Hammer digs a good hook to Hayden's body.

Hammer thuds a left hand into Hayden's body. Hayden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hammer lands a nice hook to Hayden's body. Hayden takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hammer lands a head shot. Nice sprawl there from Hammer as Hayden shoots in. Hammer throws a one two combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hayden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hammer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hayden cracks Hammer with a big right hand but Hammer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hammer is letting Hayden control him for a moment. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayden scoring with punches and elbows. Hayden happy to just control the position for now. Hayden lands some shots froms side control. Hayden controlling from side mount. Hammer is looking to reverse the position. Hammer struggling a bit here. Hayden is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayden wants to control but Hammer is keeping him busy. Hayden is staying tight to Hammer's torso, preventing him from escaping. It looks like Hayden might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Hayden lands an elbow. Hayden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hammer is trying to escape the position but Hayden is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayden is continuing to stall. You can see the frustration on Hammer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hayden controlling the position from side mount. Let's hope that Hayden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hayden is defended easily by Hammer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hammer digs a good hook to Hayden's body.

Hayden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hammer keeps working. A lull in the action here as Hayden stalls from top position. Hammer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hayden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hammer napping and manages to drive through into side control! A lull in the action here as Hayden stalls from top position. Hayden working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hayden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hayden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hayden trying to control the action but Hammer is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hayden throws a strike aimed at the side of Hammer's head but Hammer avoids it well. Hayden is looking to take a break and control but Hammer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hammer is trying to improve his position.

Hayden is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Bart Hayden has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hammer is trying to control Hayden's posture but Hayden avoids it. Hayden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Hammer is trying to escape the position but Hayden is controlling the position. Hayden throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hayden has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammer fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Hammer scores with a shot to the body.

Hayden takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dirk Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hammer swivels and escapes. Hammer stuns Hayden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hammer connects with a body shot that sends Hayden's belly button to the back. Hayden scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hayden looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hayden decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. This has been an exciting period of action! Hammer lands a nice shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammer lands with a good body shot. Hayden tries to clinch up but Hammer circles away and keeps his distance. Bart Hayden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hammer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hayden has a takedown stuffed. Hayden is breathing heavily. Hammer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice shot by Hammer. Hammer stuffs the takedown. Hammer swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Dirk Hammer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Hayden. Hayden fails with a takedown attempt. Hammer jabs Hayden to the body, keeping him at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dirk Hammer dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Hammer ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hayden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hayden lands in his opponent's guard. Hayden not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hammer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hayden manages to get himself to full guard.
Hammer won't allow Hayden to sweep him here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hayden is on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammer can't keep his opponent in guard - Hayden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hammer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hammer tries to get out of the position. Hayden is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hammer! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hayden content just to control the position here.

Dirk Hammer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hayden tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hammer wants to hold on but Hayden pushes him away. Hayden sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
