Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Avent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Avent! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Avent explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Young shoots in for a double leg but Avent sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Avent misses with a takedown and Young counters with a takedown into side control. Avent is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Avent wants to control but Young postures up. Avent tries to buck Young off but Young is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Young tries for a kimura but Avent is defending well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Young tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Young has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Young is breathing heavily. Young trying to control the action but Avent is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young misses with the ground and pound. Young working away. Young misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Avent tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Young wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Avent is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Avent tries to get to full guard but Young has control of the leg. Avent won't allow Young to pass to mount.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Avent looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Young keeping moving, preventing Avent from controlling successfully. Young can't keep his opponent in guard - Avent advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Young is pressing down on Avent's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Young has an active guard here but Avent has managed to pass into half guard.

Young is looking for a triangle but Avent pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Avent pushes down on Young's leg and manages to get into half guard. Young is refusing to be controlled, as Avent sits in half guard. Avent is looking for a kimura but Young is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Avent to get the leverage. Young looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Avent is working for a kimura but Young is defending it quite comfortably.
Avent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Young does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Young is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Avent throws a sloppy head kick and Young moves out of range easily. Avent lands a high kick!
Young darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Phil Avent will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Avent closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Young to the mat! Young manages to get full guard. Young manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Avent is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Young tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Young landing shots from mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avent is looking to improve his position but Young isn't that keen on the idea. Young in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Avent taking shots to the head. Avent is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Young lands with some strikes. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Young cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Young looking for a guillotine from mount but Avent is having none of it. Young trying to control but Avent is having none of it. Avent is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Avent is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Young lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Young is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Avent has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Young looking to control but Avent is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Avent really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Young with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young unloads with some shots from mount but Avent bucks and avoids them well.

A nice elbow there by Young. Avent suckers Young into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Avent is now in Young's guard!
Fred Young overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Avent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Avent trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Young is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Avent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Avent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Young swivels though and keeps the full guard. Young manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Avent is working to get back to half guard.
Young with the ground and pound from mount. Young has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Avent's face.
Young lands a big shot there that rocks Avent but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Fred Young dominated that second round. That's time! Young's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Young moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Avent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Young keeping moving, preventing Avent from controlling successfully. Avent is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Avent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Avent wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Young, who protects the arm well. Young has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young manages to work his way to half guard, despite Avent's best efforts. Avent tries to stand and escape but Young is controlling the position. Young looking for submissions off his back. Young is trying to control but Avent manages to pass to mount!

Ooooh, that looks tight… Young is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Young and Avent has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Young is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Avent's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Young wants to control but Avent is keeping busy and won't allow it. Avent is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Young has managed to free his arm - good work. Young is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Avent pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avent is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Young is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Young punching from the bottom.
Avent is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Young! Young is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Avent breaks from Young's wrist control and lands an elbow. Young tries to reverse the position but Avent maintains control. Avent tries to control but Young wriggling away. Avent looking to secure an arm triangle but Young defends it well. Young keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Phil Avent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Avent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
