Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bill Arkham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baker has chosen monster as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Arkham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Baker! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Arkham as Baker shoots in. Baker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Arkham is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Arkham manages to get to full guard.
Arkham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Baker manages to get himself to full guard.
Baker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Arkham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Baker wants to get back to his feet but Arkham is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Arkham controlling from the top position. Baker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker has his foot on Arkham's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Arkham works his way back into a safe position though. Arkham is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Baker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Arkham forces his way into half guard. Still in half guard, Arkham seems content to control. Baker is looking to control Arkham's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Baker avoid being mounted? Baker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Baker looks gassed! Arkham thows a huge punch but Baker dodges it nicely.
Baker wants to control but Arkham is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baker is trying to stand back up but Arkham is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Arkham lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Arkham looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Arkham has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Arkham is trying to work for a kimura but Baker is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Arkham lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Baker has eaten all the pies! Baker has hold of Arkham's hands but Arkham slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkham seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Arkham is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Arkham slows the pace down in half guard. Arkham passes the guard and advances to mount! Arkham controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arkham breaks from Baker's wrist control and lands an elbow. Arkham landing strikes from the mount and Baker is in trouble! Arkham sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Bill Arkham just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Baker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Arkham circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baker misses with a takedown attempt - Arkham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Arkham closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baker circles away. Horrible takedown by Arkham or perhaps it was just good defense by Baker which made him look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Baker is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arkham wants to sweep here but Baker controlling him for the moment. Arkham seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Arkham throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Arkham looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arkham pulls Baker in close to prevent any damage. Arkham has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Arkham is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Arkham is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arkham had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Arkham Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baker's back instead. Arkham softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Baker turns into Arkham and is now in his guard.
Arkham is trying to keep Baker in close.
Baker wanted to stand there but Arkham had control of the position. Arkham has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Arkham is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Arkham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Baker manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Arkham connects with a couple of short punches. Arkham controls from within his opponent's guard. Arkham drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arkham jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Arkham trying to control the position from guard on top but Baker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Baker being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Arkham dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Arkham tries for a takedown but Baker circles away easily and Baker counters with a takedown into side control. Arkham sneaks back into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Arkham manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Arkham is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Baker preventing the sweep. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Arkham is working hard here to advance position. Arkham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Baker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Arkham is just riding it out for now. Baker eventually gives up the hold. Arkham is looking to control Baker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Arkham avoid being mounted?

Arkham is positioning himself well to prevent Baker advancing to mount. Arkham regains full guard. Nicely done. Arkham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Baker can't keep his opponent in guard - Arkham advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Arkham controlling the action here. Arkham is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Arkham tries to roll over but Baker keeps him under control. Arkham is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Baker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Baker's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arkham controls the position. Arkham's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Arkham looking for the RNC. Baker prevents Arkham from getting a body triangle. Josh Baker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Arkham just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Bill Arkham is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Baker looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bill Arkham. Well Arkham has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
