And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitehead tries to clinch there but Pettis circles away.
Pettis walks into a stiff left hand from Whitehead.
Pettis is looking to clinch but Whitehead is avoiding it.

Pettis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Whitehead is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Pettis is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Whitehead is trying to stand up.
Pettis lands a heavy elbow.
Whitehead is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Whitehead is desperately trying to improve his position but Pettis has a good base and remains in mount.

Pettis is keen to just control but Whitehead is a slippery customer.

Pettis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Whitehead is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Whitehead has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pettis is posturing up here but Whitehead has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Pettis tries to roll out but it's too tight and Pettis has to tap! Slick submission there by Whitehead!
