Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacinto Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jacinto Cox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Cruz! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz avoids the head kick by Cox.
Cruz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cox swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cruz looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Cruz won't allow Cox to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox working for submissions but it's allowed Cruz to get to half guard.
Cox is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox is looking to escape. Cruz stands up out of the half guard. Jacinto Cox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cruz has managed to clinch.
Cruz pulls Cox into guard.
Cox thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cruz pushes Cox off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Cruz throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Jacinto Cox has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz keeps the fight on the outside. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cruz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cruz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cruz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cruz slows the pace down. Cruz advances to full mount. Cruz controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox is looking to improve his position but Cruz isn't that keen on the idea. Cruz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cox is looking to escape. Cruz working for a guillotine from mount but Cox is in no mood to give up. Cruz with a couple of short strikes. Cruz wants to control the pace but Cox is squirming around nicely. Cruz throwing strikes here but Cox is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cox looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Cox trying to get back to his feet but Cruz is in full control for now. Cruz is hanging on to Cox's back as he tries to escape.
Cruz looking for the choke but no joy. Cruz is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cox wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Cruz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jacinto Cox's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cruz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cox, pushing him back against the cage. Cruz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cox is looking to clinch. Cox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cruz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cox takes a shot right to the bread basket. Cox tries to keep at a distance but Cruz has taken the fight into the clinch. Cruz breaks the clinch.
Jacinto Cox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Cox. Cruz lands a high kick!
Cruz circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox tries to clinch and Cruz counters with a lovely shot to the body. A combination from Cruz does no damage. As Cruz looks to move away, Cox throws a big counter combo but Cruz just gets out of the way. Cox tries to clinch there but Cruz circles away.
Cruz gets a takedown into half guard. Cox tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cruz manages to move to mount!
Cox really wants to buck Cruz off and get back to his feet. Cruz controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Cox is rocked! Ricardo Cruz has got the better of the ground game so far. Cox tries to improve his position but instead Cruz has taken his back! Oh Cox is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cruz lands strikes from the back and Cox isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Cruz!
