Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raylan Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendrix comes into the arena with Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk blaring out of the sound system. Andre Hendrix has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Hendrix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raylan Steele! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendrix misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Steele scores with a jab. Hendrix acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hendrix walks into a stiff left hand from Steele. Hendrix fails to land the takedown. Steele gets caught napping as Hendrix dives in and scores a takedown. Steele manages to retain guard. Steele can't keep his opponent in guard - Hendrix advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hendrix is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Steele defends it well. Hendrix has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hendrix is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Steele sees it coming and defends easily. Hendrix wants to work for an arm triangle but Steele is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Steele really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hendrix. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This has been an exciting period of action! Steele felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
