The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jellybelly swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Griffen has a takedown stuffed.
Jellybelly tries to clinch up.

Jellybelly has closed the distance and engaged Griffen in a clinch.
Griffen tries to pull guard but Jellybelly holds him up against the cage and eventually Griffen drops back down to his feet.
Griffen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jellybelly lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

It looks like Jack Jellybelly has been cut.
Griffen fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forrest Griffen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Griffen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jellybelly avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Jellybelly tries to land knees in the clinch but Griffen avoids the damage to the body.
Griffen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Griffen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Griffen jumps guard and drags Jellybelly to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Griffen pushes Jellybelly off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Griffen counters with a big head kick but Jellybelly shrugs it off.
Jellybelly closes the distance looking to clinch

and Griffen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jellybelly's guard now.
Jellybelly wants to stand but Griffen is controlling the position.
Griffen stands and throws Jellybelly's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Griffen has hold of Jellybelly's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jellybelly tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Griffen cranks the arm and Jellybelly screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jellybelly, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
