Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcellus Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Anderson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suarez shoots and misses

and Anderson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Anderson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Anderson told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Anderson goes for a takedown attempt but Suarez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Anderson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Suarez dives into side control.

Anderson bucks up and tries to throw Suarez off but instead Suarez has got his back!

Suarez seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Anderson's chin but Anderson turns very nicely into Suarez's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Anderson.

Anderson pushes Suarez off and gets back to his feet.
Anderson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Suarez if he has to take too many more of those.

Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Suarez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.

A looping hook to the body misses from Anderson. Suarez does a little dance to reset his feet.
As Anderson looks to move away, Suarez throws a big counter combo but Anderson just gets out of the way.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Anderson is defended easily by Suarez.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Suarez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
