Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holly Shiet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Holly Shiet! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shiet.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Shiet is out of range. Diaz lands a nice shot to the body.
Diaz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Shiet misses with a two punch combination.
Shiet misses with a few strikes there.
Shiet circles away from the clinch attempt.
And Shiet tries to counter it with a takedown but Diaz pushes his down on his head and steps out. Holly Shiet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Some wild striking there from Shiet.
Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shiet manages to avoid it. Diaz scores with a nice strike. Shiet throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease. Shiet uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diaz. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shiet swats him away and circles back towards the center. Shiet is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shiet was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz. Shiet is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Shiet keeps the fight on the outside. Shiet throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Diaz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shiet fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Diaz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Shiet is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Holly Shiet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shiet misses with the combination.
Shiet misses with a few strikes there.
Shiet moves out of range of the strikes. Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Shiet sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shiet ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Shiet misses with a few strikes there.
Shiet throws a one two combo.
A combination from Shiet does no damage. Shiet throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. Diaz instigates a clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz stalling in the clinch but Shiet improves position. Diaz misses with some punches.
Come on Diaz - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz jumps guard but Shiet stands there with Diaz around his waist. Diaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shiet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shiet keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Diaz. Diaz looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Shiet throws a right hand that Diaz ducks under and follows up with a left that Diaz also avoids with ease. It looked like Diaz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Shiet throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range. It looked like Diaz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shiet. Shiet looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shiet throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Diaz misses with a body shot.
Shiet moves out of range of the strikes. Diaz throws a body punch but Shiet moves out of range. Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shiet tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shiet to the ground. Shiet escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shiet uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaz. Shiet drops Diaz with a nice combination! Shiet dives into Diaz's guard, looking to finish!
Diaz is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Shiet frees his head nicely. Oh but Diaz has switched to an armbar! Shiet is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Nick Diaz! In his post fight interview, Nick Diaz started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
