PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vishis Vourture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vourture might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Encore. Dave Lee will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vourture throws an overhand right that lands on Lee's shoulder, as Lee tries to avoid the shot.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
Lee slips under a jab from Vourture.
Vishis Vourture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Lee.
Vourture looks to score with a jab to the body but Lee is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vourture looks to land a left hand but Lee moved out of range nicely.
Vourture shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vourture keeps working.

Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vourture throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vourture throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vourture connects with a right hand. Lee shakes it off.

and Lee counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vourture paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Lee counters with a shoot takedown. Vourture fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Vourture is looking to control Lee's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vourture avoid being mounted?

Lee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vourture sees it coming and defends easily.

Lee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vourture defends it well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Vourture looks to throw the jab but Lee is out of range.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Vourture closes the distance but Lee moves to the side

and Lee holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lee takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Vourture is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Vourture's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lee lands a nice knee to the body.

Lee jumps guard but Vourture stands there with Lee around his waist. Lee gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Vourture goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lee tries to pull guard but Vourture holds him up against the cage and eventually Lee drops back down to his feet.

Vourture is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lee is keeping busy.

Lee has his foot on Vourture's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vourture works his way back into a safe position though.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vourture can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

and Lee decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vourture's guard.
Lee won't allow Vourture to get back to his feet.

Vourture working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lee drops back looking for a leg! Vourture is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vourture manages to kick Lee off! Lee jumps back into Vourture's guard.

Lee looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vourture is defending well. Lee quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vourture has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Lee celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
