Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Pounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhailu Banister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikhailu Banister will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry Pounder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikhailu Banister! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pounder scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pounder working away. Banister might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pounder haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Pounder tries to score with some ground and pound. Banister controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Pounder is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Banister's shoulder. That is not cool. Banister is looking to regain half guard here but Pounder keeps moving and retains side control. Pounder in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Pounder works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Pounder taking a breather here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banister wants to control but Pounder postures up. Pounder just content to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pounder throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Banister is looking to reverse the position. Pounder tries to advance to mount but Banister denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banister looks to move to half guard but instead Pounder has passed into mount! Damn! Banister tries to hold on but Pounder postures up. Pounder wants to control the pace but Banister is squirming around nicely. Pounder jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Banister manages to avoid the submission attempt. You can see the frustration on Banister's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pounder cracks Banister with an elbow. That is naaassty. Banister is trying to get back to half guard. Pounder tries to move to mount but Banister blocks the move with his legs. Banister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pounder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pounder trying to control the position but Banister is working away. Pounder is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Banister is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pounder landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Pounder working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pounder looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Banister tries to get back to half guard but can't. Banister struggling a bit here. Pounder thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pounder is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Banister is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Banister is trying to control Pounder's posture but Pounder avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banister tries to bench press Pounder off him but Pounder keeps the position. Banister is trying to control Pounder's posture but Pounder avoids it. Pounder is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Banister knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Banister wants to control but Pounder postures up. Banister tries to buck Pounder off but Pounder is having none of it. Banister is trying to work for a sweep but Pounder has mounted him! Pounder landing punches. Pounder avoids the attempt from Banister to control. Pounder controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pounder has hold of Banister's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Banister manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pounder tries to control but Banister wriggling away. Pounder scoring with strikes but Banister is staying in there. Pounder lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Banister tries to improve his position but instead Pounder has taken his back! Banister wants to escape the position.
Banister trying to control the hands but Pounder breaks the grip. You can see the frustration on Banister's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Gerry Pounder dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pounder drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Banister looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pounder passes into side control.
Pounder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Banister keeps working. Banister tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pounder has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Banister is trying to control Pounder's posture but Pounder avoids it. Pounder in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Banister manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banister wants to improve his position but Pounder is controlling well.

Banister trying to get back to full guard but Pounder takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Pounder looking to secure an arm triangle but Banister defends it well.

The referee warns Banister that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pounder raining down shots from the mount! Banister is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Banister is looking to get to half guard. Pounder controlling his opponent. Pounder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Banister can do to turn this around? Pounder wants to finish this one by submission but Banister is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pounder.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pounder is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Banister has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pounder can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banister is looking to escape. Pounder in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Pounder landing shots from mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pounder has isolated one of Banister's arms. Banister looking to fight him off but Pounder twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
