Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toktogulovich Bakiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marlo Stanfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanfield is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Legendary. Marlo Stanfield told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bakiyev.
Stanfield moves out of range of the strikes.
Stanfield misses with a hook
and Bakiyev counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Stanfield looks to land a combination but Bakiyev avoids it well.
Stanfield throws a series of punches but Bakiyev moves out of range.
Bakiyev takes a swing at Stanfield's ribcage but misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stanfield throws a big shot that misses.
Bakiyev throws a hook to the side of Stanfield's head but Stanfield sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bakiyev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Stanfield will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stanfield misses with a looping right.
Bakiyev swings for the body but Stanfield moves out of range.

and Bakiyev counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Stanfield throws a shot from downtown. Bakiyev moves away and avoids it.
Stanfield throws out a loose jab but Bakiyev uses good head movement to avoid it.

Stanfield lands a left and a right that send Bakiyev crashing to the mat, dazed. Stanfield thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bakiyev is rocked!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stanfield throws a shot from downtown. Bakiyev moves away and avoids it.

enabling Bakiyev to counter with a crisp jab.
Stanfield throws a body punch but Bakiyev moves out of range.

Stanfield lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Bakiyev takes a swing at Stanfield's ribcage but misses.

Bakiyev slips a jab and a cross from Stanfield.
Bakiyev throws out a loose jab but Stanfield uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stanfield feints with a jab and clips Bakiyev right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Bakiyev is sent crashing into the canvas and Stanfield leaps in for the kill! Bakiyev tries to get to his feet but Stanfield is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Bakiyev is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marlo Stanfield!
Marlo Stanfield was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
