The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns connects with a body shot that sends Guel's belly button to the back.
Guel throws a head kick but Johns moves out of range.
Johns closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Guel throws an overhand right that lands on Johns's shoulder, as Johns tries to avoid the shot.
Johns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Guel.
Johns misses with an uppercut. Guel saw that one coming.
Johns throws a series of punches but Guel avoids them all with ease.
Good exchange - Johns coming out on top.
Johns moves out of range as Guel throws a body kick.
Johns uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Guel throws a sloppy head kick and Johns moves out of range easily.
Johns looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Johns lands with a nice body punch.
Johns looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Donk. Johns catches Guel right on the button with a cross.
Guel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Guel needs to keep his hands up - Johns had a free shot at his head there.
Guel is rocked!
Guel looks up at the clock. Bad move! Johns lands a right hand from hell, dropping Guel. Johns pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). La'Von Johns! La'Von Johns retains his featherweight title!
La'Von Johns took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I just wanna say I am so proud to be the champion for this company I;m from Brooklyn so this is a total honor for me and I appreciate everyone coming out'.
