Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Nerlinger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Darren! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nerlinger misses with a hook. Nerlinger looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Darren! Nerlinger scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Darren to see if he's OK. Darren manages to get back to half guard. Nerlinger is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nerlinger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Darren is looking to control Nerlinger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Darren avoid being mounted? Nerlinger is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Darren doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nerlinger. Nerlinger is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nerlinger prevents Darren from improving his position. Nerlinger trying to mount his opponent but Darren defends it. Nerlinger looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Darren blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nerlinger. Darren makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Darren. Nerlinger is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nerlinger missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nerlinger stands up over Darren, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Nerlinger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Darren preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nerlinger pushing down on Darren's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Darren is defending against the submission attempts here by Nerlinger.

Darren has hold of Nerlinger's hands but Nerlinger slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nerlinger lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Darren avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nerlinger. Nerlinger wants to work for an arm triangle but Darren is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nerlinger lands a nice short elbow. Nerlinger slips a nice elbow through Darren's hands, connecting with Darren's forehead. Nerlinger lands strikes from half guard. Nerlinger looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Nerlinger winds up and cracks Darren with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Darren is rocked! Nerlinger is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Darren is hurt! He's hurt bad - Nerlinger fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Darren from any more punishment! Congratulations to Nerlinger! Great finish!
