And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Stone!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vachon lands a nice shot that snaps Stone's head back.
Stone avoids the body shot from Vachon.
Stone needs to keep his hands up - Vachon had a free shot at his head there.
Stone is looking to clinch but Vachon is avoiding it.
Vachon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vachon scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vachon drops down looking for a counter takedown but Stone sprawls and moves away.
Stone with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vachon to score with a decent uppercut.
Stone takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Vachon lands a jab to Stone's midsection.
Stone goes for a double leg but Vachon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vachon continues to drive forward.
Vachon connects with a body shot.
Vachon seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vachon has closed the distance and engaged Stone in a clinch.

Vachon has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stone regains guard immediately.
Our spies down at at The SkrapBox inform us that Stone has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Vachon cracks Stone with a solid left hand.
Vachon passes Stone's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vachon connects with a nice short shot to Stone's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vachon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Vachon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stone tries to get to full guard but Vachon has control of the leg.
Vachon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Vachon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Vachon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Stone!
Stone tries to hold on but Vachon postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stone might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Vachon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Stone is desperately trying to improve his position but Vachon has a good base and remains in mount.

Stone tries to hold on but Vachon pushes him away.

Stone is rocked!
Vachon postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Stone out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Vachon goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Maurice Vachon!
