PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Willie Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snitch keeps the fight on the outside.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Salazar.
Snitch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Salazar dives in for a single leg takedown but Snitch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Snitch throws out a counter right but Salazar avoids it with no problem.

Salazar moves into range and clinches up with Snitch.

Snitch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Salazar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Salazar keeps the fight on the outside.
Salazar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Snitch feints a counter leg kick.
Snitch lands a jab to Salazar's midsection.
Salazar tries to clinch but Snitch moves out of range.

Snitch drives through with a takedown into Salazar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Salazar can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Snitch controls the pace.

Salazar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Snitch is taking a breather. Salazar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Snitch avoids the attempt from Salazar to control.

Salazar wants to control but Snitch is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Snitch defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Salazar.
Salazar takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Snitch lands with a hook. Salazar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Willie Salazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Snitch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Salazar on his heels. He'll look to pass Salazar's guard now, I'm sure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Snitch working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jon Snitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salazar has a couple of punches blocked by Snitch.

Snitch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Let's hope that Snitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
