Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Norberto Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Durham! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durham looking to score a takedown here. Kent is defending well but Durham drives through and ends up in Kent's guard. Durham controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Durham won't allow Kent to sweep him here. Kent is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kent is thwarting Durham's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kent thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kent looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Durham with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kent sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Durham defending well though. The fighters are battling for position here. Durham manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Durham is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kent presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Kent landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Durham. Durham lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Durham lands a big knee to the head and Kent goes down! Durham pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
