Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Zombie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zombie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.

Zombie clinches up against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zombie gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Zombie is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Zombie and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Zombie is looking for a choke. Silva gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Silva manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zombie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zombie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zombie!

That's time! Zombie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zombie is trying to maintain the position but Silva is very close to passing his half guard.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zombie keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Zombie moves into the clinch.
Silva jumps guard but Zombie stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Zombie feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Zombie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Zombie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.

Silva pulls Zombie in close to his closed guard and prevents Zombie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Zombie postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Zombie is on top in guard.
Silva controls Zombie momentarily but Zombie frees himself.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zombie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Zombie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Zombie wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.
Zombie is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

John Zombie showed his dominance in that final round.
