Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drake Foryeski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bartosz Nowicki! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nowicki dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nowicki scores with a jab to the jaw. Nowicki scores with a jab. Nowicki fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Nowicki digs a good body shot into Foryeski's ribs. Nowicki lands a really nice looking cross but Foryeski seems unphased.
Nowicki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Foryeski doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Nowicki swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Foryeski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nowicki is not content to let Foryeski control the position. Nowicki taking some punishment here, with Foryeski in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Foryeski connects with a nice short shot to Nowicki's temple. Foryeski has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Nowicki is looking to control Foryeski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nowicki avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Foryeski is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nowicki sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Foryeski is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nowicki is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
