Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 8 Mile. Bryan Bishop has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Martin!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Martin swivels and escapes.
And Martin responds with a good body kick, but Bishop manages to step out the way in time.
Martin looks to throw the jab but Bishop is out of range.
Martin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bishop shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Bishop's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Martin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin leaves Bishop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bishop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martin tries to avoid it but Bishop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martin to the ground. Martin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Martin lands with a kick to the temple. Bishop shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Martin explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Bryan Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Martin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Bishop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martin tries to avoid it but Bishop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martin to the ground. Martin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bishop is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Martin's half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bishop dives in and grabs Martin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Martin pushes down on Bishop's head and hops out.
As Bishop backs off Martin throws a huge counter combo but Bishop manages to avoid it all.

Martin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bishop will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Martin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily.

Despite the aggression on Martin's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

and Bishop counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Martin!

Bryan Bishop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Martin's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Martin duly obliges.

Steve Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
