Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Calirante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Mstislav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calirante comes to the cage accompanied by Bob Marley - I Shot The Sheriff. Ruslan Mstislav Volkov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calirante tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Volkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Calirante.
Calirante throws a series of punches but Volkov moves out of range.
Volkov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Calirante is fending him off so far but Volkov persists. Nope, Calirante circles away and we're back to standing.
Calirante goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Calirante throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Volkov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Calirante does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Volkov throws out a counter right but Calirante avoids it with no problem.
Volkov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Calirante manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Santiago Calirante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruslan Mstislav Volkov.
Nice uppercut lands for Volkov. That snapped Calirante's head back.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Volkov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Calirante - the referee stops the clock and Volkov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Calirante. Volkov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
