Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jari Byczynski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kingsley Nasir! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nasir looking to score a takedown here. Byczynski is defending well but Nasir drives through and ends up in Byczynski's guard. Byczynski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nasir is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Byczynski holds on and takes a little breather. Nasir not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Nasir trying to control the position from guard on top but Byczynski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nasir looking to sit in guard and control but Byczynski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nasir throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Byczynski has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Byczynski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nasir wants to sweep here but Byczynski controlling him for the moment. Byczynski looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nasir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nasir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Byczynski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nasir preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Byczynski sitting in guard here, content to control. Nasir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Byczynski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Nasir misses. Nasir catches Byczynski with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Nasir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Byczynski regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Nasir. Byczynski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nasir controls the pace. Byczynski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Byczynski performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Nasir actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Byczynski is thwarting Nasir's attempts to control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Byczynski content to control rather than advance. Nasir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Byczynski throwing shots but Nasir is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jari Byczynski will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nasir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Nasir works his foot free and advances to mount. Nasir controlling the position easily from mount. Nasir lands a big elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nasir controlling from mount. Byczynski is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nasir trying to control but Byczynski is having none of it. Byczynski prevents Nasir from taking his back. Byczynski is looking to improve his position but Nasir isn't that keen on the idea. Poor strikes thrown by Nasir there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Nasir with the ground and pound from mount. Nasir is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Byczynski can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Byczynski wants to control but Nasir is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nasir tries to control but Byczynski wriggling away. Byczynski wants to hold on but Nasir pushes him away. Nasir wants to control the pace but Byczynski is squirming around nicely. Byczynski is desperately trying to improve his position but Nasir has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Byczynski slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Byczynski is staying active underneath Nasir, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Nasir looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Nasir is working for a kimura but Byczynski is defending it quite comfortably.
Byczynski is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nasir is stalling here. Byczynski is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nasir seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Byczynski has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kingsley Nasir has got the better of the ground game so far. Byczynski controls the position. You can see the frustration on Nasir's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nasir tries to buck Byczynski off but Byczynski is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Byczynski looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Nasir is avoiding damage well.

Kingsley Nasir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Byczynski jabbing away but nothing is landing. Byczynski wants to slow Nasir down by chopping away at his legs. Byczynski looks to throw the jab but Nasir is out of range. Nasir let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Nasir avoids the body shot from Byczynski.
Nasir scores with a nice head shot. Byczynski throws a jab but it's blocked by Nasir. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nasir lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Byczynski has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Byczynski and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A little feinted left hand from Byczynski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Byczynski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nasir. Byczynski throws a right hand that Nasir ducks under and follows up with a left that Nasir also avoids with ease. Byczynski misses with a few strikes there.

Byczynski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Byczynski is trying to force a seperation but Nasir has the dominant position. Byczynski swings wildly with an uppercut but Nasir uses good head movement to avoid it. Byczynski stalling the fight.
Byczynski creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nasir's defenses. Byczynski tries a body shot but Nasir blocks it.
Nasir jumps guard but Byczynski stands there with Nasir around his waist. Nasir gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jari Byczynski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kingsley Nasir. Byczynski is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Byczynski fails to land. Byczynski throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nasir blocks it with crossed arms. Byczynski misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Nasir fails to pull guard.
Nasir has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Byczynski after a bit of a struggle. Byczynski throws a head punch that misses. Byczynski lands with a right to the head. Nasir is trying to drag Byczynski to the mat but Byczynski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Nasir misses with a shot to the kidneys.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Byczynski tries to work over Nasir's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Byczynski fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Byczynski throws a head punch that misses. Nasir is looking to take this one to the mat. Byczynski swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Byczynski misses with a hook from the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A short left from Byczynski. Byczynski swings wildly with an uppercut but Nasir uses good head movement to avoid it.
