Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brain Smasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jeff Durham has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Durham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brain Smasher! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durham throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Durham tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smasher paws at him with a jab and circles away. Smasher misses with a hook. Smasher rushes Durham and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Smasher pulls guard. Durham wants to stand but Smasher has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smasher looking for a sweep. Not yet Smasher, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smasher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Durham has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smasher is working away from the top position though. Smasher moves nicely into side control. Smasher lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Durham down.
Durham tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smasher wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Smasher connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Durham some visible discomfort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Durham manages to get back to half guard. Smasher working the head and body with strikes. Smasher thows a huge punch but Durham dodges it nicely.
Smasher is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Durham manages to get to full guard.
Smasher working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Durham's head. Smasher throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smasher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smasher postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Smasher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Durham keeps working. Smasher looks up at the clock and then as Durham takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Smasher smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Smasher is looking to take a break and control but Durham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Durham is looking for a sweep. Smasher scores with a couple of short elbows. Smasher landing a few strikes. Smasher is chipping away with strikes.
Smasher creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Durham taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smasher scoring with punches from side control. Smasher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Smasher working the ground and pound. Smasher looks up at the clock and then as Durham takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Smasher smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Smasher looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Smasher scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Durham to see if he's OK. Durham is trying to control Smasher's posture but Smasher avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Durham is looking for a sweep. Smasher in side control lands a decent elbow. Check out the look on Smasher's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Durham is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Brain Smasher dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Smasher gets in close and instigates a clinch. Smasher goes for a takedown in the clinch but Durham prevents it.

Durham pushes Smasher back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Smasher breaks from the clinch.
Durham throws a jab but it's blocked by Smasher. Durham thows a left - swing and a miss! Durham fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smasher circles away from the clinch attempt and Smasher moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smasher scores with a nice hook to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Durham is pressed up against the cage. Smasher has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Durham down to the mat. Durham avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Durham misses with a hook to the body
and Smasher counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durham doesn't succeed with the takedown and Smasher counters with a straight right hand. Smasher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Durham sprawls well initially but Smasher persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Smasher drops an elbow to the side of Durham's head. Smasher looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Smasher working the head and body with strikes. Smasher lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Smasher is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smasher lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Durham is trying to control but can't.

Durham looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Smasher lands with a punch from half guard. Smasher looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Durham with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Smasher lands strikes from half guard. Durham tries to roll over but Smasher keeps him under control. Smasher trying to control the action but Durham is working from the bottom. Smasher has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Durham misses with a body shot
and Smasher counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Smasher. Smasher lands a takedown into guard.
Durham throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smasher escapes and throws Durham's legs to the side, diving into side control! Durham takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Smasher landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Durham on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Durham tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smasher wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smasher has knee on belly and moves into mount. Smasher tries to control but Durham wriggling away. Durham wants to hold on but Smasher pushes him away. Durham can't escape the position.
Smasher pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Smasher raining down shots from the mount! Smasher looking to finish Durham with some ground and pound. This is bad for Durham! Smasher landing punches. Smasher working Durham over with strikes here. A nice elbow there by Smasher. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brain Smasher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Durham's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Smasher throws a leg kick but Durham sees it coming and checks it nicely. Jeff Durham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Durham closes the distance but Smasher moves to the side and Smasher counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Durham wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Smasher is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Durham can't fight it off and eventually Smasher manages to take the fight to the floor. Durham looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Smasher stopping the sweep attempt from Durham. Durham trying to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Smasher landing some decent shots from guard. Smasher content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Durham on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Smasher is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Durham tries to hold on but Smasher postures up. Smasher is working for a guillotine from mount but Durham frees his head quite easily.

Smasher cracks Durham with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Smasher is in the full mount, landing strikes. Smasher scoring with strikes but Durham is staying in there. Smasher putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Durham is desperately trying to improve his position but Smasher has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Smasher content just to control the position here. Durham wants to hold on but Smasher pushes him away. Smasher lands with some strikes. Durham is in all sorts of trouble here.
Smasher has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Smasher lands a nice shot to the head. Brain Smasher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Smasher content just to control the position here. Smasher dominating with strikes here. Smasher controlling from the full mount. Jeff Durham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smasher's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that's the end of the fight! Brain Smasher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smasher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
