Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Reece Macdonald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gino Demon! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macdonald stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Macdonald throws a low kick but Demon moves out of range easily. Demon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Macdonald misses with a body kick. Horrible takedown attempt by Demon or perhaps it was just good defense by Macdonald, which made it look bad. Demon rushes Macdonald and presses him up against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Demon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Demon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Macdonald can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Macdonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Demon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Demon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Macdonald doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Macdonald manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Demon looking for subs off his back but Macdonald has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demon actively working from the bottom here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Demon can do anything to dispel that myth. Macdonald is looking for a kimura but Demon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Macdonald to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Macdonald is trying to control the action in half guard but Demon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Demon looking for subs from the bottom but Macdonald mounts him! Macdonald landing strikes, looking to finish! Demon is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Macdonald seems content to control. Demon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Demon has his foot on Macdonald's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Macdonald works his way back into a safe position though. Macdonald could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Demon looking for a guillotine here but Macdonald defends easily.

But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Macdonald, into his guard. Macdonald doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Macdonald drops back looking for a leg! Demon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Demon manages to kick Macdonald off! Macdonald jumps back into Demon's guard. Demon looking for a triangle here. Macdonald is fighting it but it looks tight! Demon pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Macdonald is tapping out - this one is all over!
