Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jewell Carrillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby McArthur!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McArthur feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Carrillo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McArthur controls the pace.

McArthur got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carrillo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McArthur has managed to get both his arms back between Carrillo's legs - danger averted.
McArthur content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McArthur wants to control from the top but Carrillo keeps moving.
McArthur is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McArthur passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McArthur in particular looking to stall.

McArthur seems to be working for a kimura but Carrillo defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McArthur with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McArthur seems to be working for a kimura but Carrillo defends the submission attempt.
Carrillo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Carrillo is not content to let McArthur control the position.
Carrillo is in trouble now - McArthur has advanced to mount!
McArthur has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carrillo's face.
Carrillo is squirming around, avoiding McArthur's attempts to control the action.
Carrillo really is a fat lump.
McArthur manages to capitalize on a mistake by Carrillo to take his back!

McArthur is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Carrillo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but McArthur has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Carrillo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. McArthur doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bobby McArthur!
