Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asko Ilmarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asko Ilmarinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Asko Ilmarinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dwayne Johnson! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries for a takedown but Ilmarinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson clinches with his opponent.
Johnson wants to break free but Ilmarinen has control.
Ilmarinen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Ilmarinen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ilmarinen circles away. Asko Ilmarinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Johnson. Nice sprawl there from Ilmarinen as Johnson shoots in. Ilmarinen closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage. Ilmarinen is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ilmarinen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ilmarinen shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ilmarinen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ilmarinen closes the distance and clinches. Ilmarinen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Johnson is defending well. Johnson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ilmarinen slowing the pace effectively.

Ilmarinen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ilmarinen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson fails with the takedown. Johnson looks for a takedown but Ilmarinen sprawls well. Ilmarinen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Ilmarinen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Johnson is not content to let Ilmarinen control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ilmarinen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ilmarinen controls the position from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ilmarinen wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his arm. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ilmarinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ilmarinen tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Ilmarinen tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ilmarinen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A nice combination there by Johnson.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Ilmarinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ilmarinen misses with a two punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ilmarinen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson. Ilmarinen rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ilmarinen manages to break the clinch.
Ilmarinen loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch. Johnson dives in and grabs Ilmarinen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ilmarinen pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out. Johnson tries to clinch but Ilmarinen moves away and Ilmarinen counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson tries to escape but Ilmarinen is in control. Ilmarinen is working to tighten his grip on Johnson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Johnson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ilmarinen is really squeezing tight and eventually Johnson passes out! Ilmarinen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Asko Ilmarinen! Asko Ilmarinen bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
