Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Lawler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lawler clobbers Jackson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Lawler throws a body shot but no joy.
Jackson works Lawler's body with a nice hook.
Lawler needs to keep his hands up - Jackson had a free shot at his head there.
Jackson lands with a hook. Lawler tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jackson jabs Lawler to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jackson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lawler is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lawler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackson throws out the jab.
Lawler takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Lawler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jackson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lawler sprawling to the canvas! Lawler rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jackson finish him?!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lawler gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Jackson points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Lawler wakes up just in time to hear Jackson thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joseph Jackson!
Joseph Jackson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
